And just like that, it was a new year.
After a lovely two-weeks off for the holidays, spending time with family and friends, I am officially back to my normal routine (and unfortunately back to setting an alarm every morning to make sure I don't sleep 'til noon).
With it being the start of a new year, I'm sure you've been thinking about your resolutions for 2015 - all the things you want to start, accomplish, and/or quit. So, to kick-off my first post for 2015, I'm letting you in on my personal way of resolution setting for the new year, and throughout the year as well!
I had an acting teacher once who recommended getting a notebook and writing down, each day, five things you are grateful for and five things you want to manifest. I did this almost every day for a year; it was a great way to consistently remind myself what I wanted my life to look like, and also truly absorb all the good things I already had.
I am a big believer in The Law of Attraction - that our thoughts are energetic frequencies, and that like attracts like. When emitting the feeling of gratefulness, you are telling the universe your desires have been fulfilled. Because like attracts like, the more grateful you are for the things you have in your life, the more things the universe gives you to be grateful for.
Soooo... aren't you wondering what happened when I decided to flip back through my notebook and take inventory of all my wishes? About 95% of the desires I wanted to manifest had become part of my reality. I realize this might sound like some cheap, late-night infomercial, promising you the world for only $5.99 and a money-back guarantee, but it's true.
This exercise has become a regular part of my daily life, and a favorite New Year tradition. Each new year, I fill an entire page of my notebook with a list of all the things I am grateful to the previous year for giving me, and on the opposite page I list all the desires I hope to manifest in the year ahead.
When setting your resolutions this year, remember gratefulness. Maybe even buy a notebook to write down your wishes - they might just come true.
Here's to a magical 2015! Dream big.
