Flashback Fashion: 70's Style

Happy Thursday (and almost weekend!!), fashionistas!

Earlier this week I wrote a post about the journey to our dreams. So, to stay within the theme of journeys, I'm taking a trip back in time and serving up some 1970's style for my outfit inspiration this week.

In life we talk about looking forward and not focusing on the past, but in fashion old trends from decades ago are brought back to life and give a new generation the chance to experience its energy. As of late, the fashion trend is journeying back to the 1970's in a major way. Palazzo pants, bell bottoms, platform shoes, matching sets and fringe seem to be turning up everywhere and I can't say I mind it!

Below I paired my high-wasted bell bottoms, with this vibrant bodysuit from H&M's new line for Spring 2015. (Shhhh-- turns out this "bodysuit" is actually a swimsuit. I had no idea until I checked the website because it wasn't in the swim section. Whatever. I like being a rebel and think it works great this way!) I styled this look with tan platform mules, a fringe bag to match, and my aviators. When wearing patterns, I like to keep my jewelry simple so I layered two thin necklaces and put on a few simple rings.

Get funky.
