Summer White Out

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Happy Thursday, babes!

Today I am tackling the age old crisis we women run into time and time again: nothing to wear. The men in our lives don't understand it, and sometimes we can't quite figure out ourselves how our closets are at capacity and our drawers are about to burst, yet we have nothing to wear. For me, this dilemma used to end with half my wardrobe on my floor after I tazmanian devil'd my way through all my clothes, anyone else? However, I am happy to say I have found a solution and am about to let you in on my little secret:

Wear all white.

Or all black. The point is, choose one or the other and wear it from head to toe. Then, once you're dressed, have fun styling! For my all white look this week I cuffed my skinnies and tied up my muscle tank to show a little skin and break up all the white. I then added some fun accessories to spice up the look with my safari hat by Callanan and grey pebble leather bag by GiGi New York. The best part about dressing in all white (or black) is you look chic and effortless while saving yourself the time and madness of digging through your whole wardrobe.

Just like in life, sometimes the simplest answer is the best answer. We over complicate. Over think. Make simple moments into complex dilemmas. We apply all this pressure to get it "right", whatever that means anyway. But the reality is, most times, good enough is pretty great.

K.I.S.Ses (Keep It Simple, Sillies)!

Summer Stripes

Happy Hump Day, y'all!

This outfit has got me a little tied up, and ironically so has life. With wedding planning, summer living, and just regular every day life stuff, things have been Busy, with a capital B. Outfits imitate life, life imitates outfits, I suppose!

For my outfit inspo this week I'm wearing a striped linen, sleeveless button down from Zara. I bought this top last year so this exact version is no longer available, but I linked similar options below! This is one of my favorite summer shirts. I love the color, and I have a thing for stripes, so this top tends to be one of the things I gravitate to most in my closet.

I styled the shirt by buttoning the top two buttons and tying the rest up to show a little belly, but I've worn it as everything from a beach cover-up, to buttoned up and tucked in, to open with a tank under. To me, this is part of the joy of getting dressed - being creative with my clothes, and seeing how many times I can repurpose the same piece to get completely different looks. Just because a shirt in a store hangs on the hanger one way, doesn't mean that's the only way it should hang on you. Have fun with your clothing; make them your own!

1 Piece, 2 Ways (part 2)

Happy Hump Day, loves!

Like I promised in my post from Monday, '1 Piece, 2 Ways', today is part deux! In Monday's post I wore this exact culotte jumpsuit, but styled a laid back, girl on the go look. For today's look I'm taking that #OOTD to a #OOTN, by ditching my top (well, mostly), switching up my accessories, and putting on a pair of heels.

Listen, I love shopping like Kanye loves Kanye, but sometimes the best shopping you can do is in your own closet. Get creative with the things you already own. Wear things differently than they might have been intended. Be unique. If you have a top or dress that you always wear dressed up, figure out how to wear it in a completely different way. There's nothing like getting multiple outfits out of one piece!
